Clayton Adams - Another victim of Idaho's corrupt and inept legal system

On March 11, 2006 at 1:30 in the morning, Clayton Adams was outnumbered 3 to 1. They attacked him and beat him severely, hitting him and kicking him; one of them beating him with a rock. At that point, Clayton's life flashed before his eyes, and he believed that he was going to die. He did the only thing he could do, and fought for his life. After struggling to be free, he finally got loose and fled.
That same night, Clayton was arrested at his home and charged with capital murder, not even knowing someone had died during that fight. Because of poor police work, a public defender that did not, or would not, use all the evidence available, Clayton was unable to mount a proper defense or obtain any resemblance of a fair trial. The defense attorney did not even show up for the verdict which took 14 hours, and Clayton was found guilty of 2nd degree murder and aggravated battery. Clayton was given a life sentence plus ten years.

Clayton fought for his life that night, as anyone would, and is now spending his life in prison because of it.

(Clayton Adams is currently incarcerated in the Idaho Correctional Center)

  1. My condolences to this beautiful family. This is such a sad story and I hope that one day you will find justice in this corrupt Idaho system.

  2. As one that has done the research i would ask. What is the cores we should take to affect change in the state of Idaho? Where prosecutors and judges have immunity and are to get a conviction at all cost lie cheat steal files hide exculpatory evidence. Defense attorneys are afraid to stand up for the truth of their clients innocence , because they have told some of these family's in these cases" I can not help after conviction because I have to work in this state". the people of the state of Idaho voted in term limits. The Powers that be said "not more then 50% of the people voted so we are not going to implement term limits." So with the power that we have given HOW DO WE make change? please respond!!!!!!!

  3. That is the most interesting statement that you made as I heard it before. Defense attorneys are afraid to stand up for the 'truth of clients' and therefore there is no Defense. Prosecutor's rule no matter what the facts are and Judges ignore every piece and part.
I've no idea how to get past the front door. D. Leroy blasted me when we requested to change judges. It's everyones 'right' to request a change Right! Cost my kido more time. Back doors. I even asked the court house how to complain about a Judge by calling the and who is upper management. They (staff) were clueless. Even they (judges) have to be accountable to someone - right? Wish I had a clue but don't think there is any Voting system with Judges. I heard one attorney state the Judge told him to never step through his doors again. He was defending his client and good at it.

  4. I think the United State Department of Justice takes complaints against Judges. Not sure if they do anything but it wouldn't hurt to keep registering our valid complaints against judges who are not insuring justice for defendants and who bow to the prosecutors.

  5. Has anyone heard from Connie?

  6. How about the public defenders who refuse to call material witnesses.. or the investigators who refuse to actually investigate?

  7. I'm not surprised at the arrest, prosecution and incarceration of this innocent person. after working in law enforcement for 31 years both as a police officer and trainer of police in the State of Texas, I now am an advocate for wrongful convictions. Also, I work w/families who have innocent family members currently in prison paying for a crime they did not commit. www.marianhoyconsultant.com.

I want to say there are honest police officers and prosecutors in this country, but they are not the ones we are talking about. We need to address and correct those police officers and prosecutors who are disreputable.

thank you, and good luck to all of us who fight this extreme and intentional injustice!

    Marian Hoy

  8. Clayton asked me to let you all know about a few resources out there for those who have family that are incarcerated and those who are or will shortly be released. They are:

We are praying these will be helpful in some way. Blessings to you all!

  9. It is interesting to read these messages and know that this young man has a long history of making poor choices through fits of anger. Clayton brutally attacked an innocent young man and is paying for his poor choice. And now we are accusing the law enforcement for Clayton's choices? Wow

  10. Apologies for not coming back sooner. It looks as though we will lose this blog as I can't find a way to renew the domain name and Google are being less than helpful.
